When Words Fail

When Words Fail

How can a word,
Even in its most essential form,
Within the limits of a singular identity,
Express the silent formless breath,
The timeless depth,
Or the measureless magnitude
Of the hallowed beyond?

How can a mind,
Even if illumined by the flood of vision light,
With all its inculcated truths,
And centuries of knowledge,
Perceive of the shadowless face,
The peerless presence,
Or the immortal passage of love?

Only a heart,
Pure, unbounded
And free to follow the inner call
Can possibly transcribe
The faint whispers
Of the universal symphony.

Only a soul,
Within the blissful embrace
Of the sovereign Creator
Can encompass all meaning of eternity.
