The Attendant of Time

Where is the joker, the teaser, the self-styled pleaser
Who has captured the world’s attention for a day?
How has he escaped the ecstasy rapture
That has embraced his life?
Has he hidden so deeply inside his own mental glory
That he failed to see and denied to feel?

You came to release the bonds of the world heart.
You created and still witness the primordial drama.
The universe of sorrows and smiles move
With the speed of expanding galaxies across your face.
Inside your heart, birds in their millions are taking flight.
Earth’s blindness is cured as infinity flows from your hands.

All this and yet he still believes
He is an attendant to time,
Meant to serve each demanding second
Of minutes past and present,
Oblivious to the flow of eternity.
